Contract Subject Matter Expert positions for IT Course Development

WGU is currently accepting applicants from subject matter experts (SMEs) in the field of IT.

General SME Qualifications for IT courses:

  • Doctorate or master's degree in the following subjects:
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Information Assurance
    • Software Engineering
    • Data Analytics
    • Database Management

    OR

    Bachelor’s degree in the following subjects:

    • Computer Science
    • Computer Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Information Assurance
    • Software Engineering
    • Data Analytics
    • Database Management AND (a MBA or MS in Business Management of IT)
  • Minimum of three years of recent experience working directly in information technology, network administration, network management, network security, information security assurance, software engineering, software development, database management, or IT project management
  • Preference given to those with experience teaching IT courses at the college level, and/or with course development/instructional design experience
  • High preference given to candidates with CISSP, Microsoft Server, Oracle, or CompTIA certifications
  • Ability to meet deadlines, have flexible use of time, and communicate effectively

Once the questionnaire is complete, and resume is submitted, please allow up to two weeks for initial response regarding your qualifications, and up to 90 days for development project invitations. The application process is on-going. Once received, your information will be retained in our system for consideration for future projects.
