A Simple, Friendly Process
WGU opens its admissions to as many individuals as possible. The admissions process
is designed to help you learn about the nature of study at WGU and help both you
and the university reach an informed decision about your enrollment. Regardless
of your background, WGU is focused on your success.
New Programs Start Monthly
For your convenience, WGU starts new groups of students in most degree programs
at the beginning of each month. Talk to an Enrollment Counselor about getting started.
The WGU Experience
Your experience as a student at WGU will be quite unique. WGU’s nationally recognized competency-based model focuses on student learning, rigorous content, flexibility, and affordability. Learn more about the WGU Experience.
A Great School for the Adult Learner
WGU is ideal for the student who needs flexibility and can thrive with a high degree of independence. Some WGU students are well into their careers looking to earn a master’s degree on their schedule and their budget. Others are seeking their first bachelor’s degree. All of them come here for the same reason—success in their careers and their lives.

Will my degree be recognized by employers?
WGU degree programs are well respected by employers. WGU is regionally accredited,
often the critical requirement to gain employer support. WGU is also nationally
accredited. In addition, the WGU Teachers College is the only exclusively online
teacher education institution to receive NCATE accreditation. Our accreditation attests to the rigorous approach we take to developing our programs
and assuring quality. Learn more about WGU’s accreditation.
WGU is also supported by a National Advisory Board comprised of major corporations
and foundations, including such well-known companies as Microsoft, Dell, Hewlett-Packard,
Oracle, and AT&T.

Do you have a graduation ceremony?
WGU has graduation commencement ceremonies two times a year in Salt Lake City, UT,
home of WGU’s main offices. Our commencement speakers have included several U.S.
governors and senators. The ceremonies are wonderful experiences at which several
WGU graduates have an opportunity to describe what their WGU degrees have meant
to them. Click here to learn about WGU graduation.
