When the cutting-edge business and media publication Fast Company released its list of the world’s 50 most-innovative companies this morning, students and alumni were proud—but not surprised—to find WGU among the ranks.
The 24th commencement ceremony at WGU—coming up this week, February 9, in Atlanta—celebrates, once again, the biggest class in our history: 4,134 graduates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and overseas military personnel!
The capstone is the culminating degree project where Western Governors University students integrate all of their online degree program competencies, rolled into one final demonstration of just how much they've learned.
At WGU, each student is assigned a personal faculty member to work with them as a mentor throughout their time at WGU. Additionally, each course has its own course mentors, subject-matter experts who are available to help students get through course material. Advice from your mentors is invaluable as you make your way through your online degree program. But we also want you to benefit from the wisdom of mentors not necessarily assigned to you, so occasionally, The Night Owl features advice from WGU mentors in college throughout the university.
