The ABCs of Mentoring

As you know, WGU’s faculty—its student mentors and course mentors especially—are one of the major things that make earning your WGU degree online such a rewarding, personalized experience.
January is National Mentoring Month, and we’ve been taking the opportunity to dive into what makes a mentor such a valuable part of an independent learning experience. Recently on the WGU Facebook Page, we asked our students and alumni to describe their mentors in one word—and we asked them to go in alphabetical order, picking a word that started with the next letter in the alphabet after the commenter before them.
The comments poured in so fast that the alphabetical order wasn’t always perfect, and some just couldn't keep themselves to one word, but we ended up making our way through the entire alphabet several times over. See below for some of our picks for the ABCs of WGU mentors.
