Hectic.

That’s the word Dia Evans, of Wilmington, Delaware, uses to describe her life. She’s a single mom; she’s an employee; and she’s a full-time student seeking her business degree online at WGU.

That’s the word Dia Evans, of Wilmington, Delaware, uses to describe her life. She’s a single mom; she’s an employee; and she’s a full-time student seeking her business degree online at WGU.

Dia has dreams of advancing through her career into a management position, and she’s set her sights on getting there with the help of an online MBA. Her busy life meant she needed an education that would provide flexibility, one-on-one support, affordability, and the kind of knowledge and skills she could use daily in her career.

"I truly appreciate the availability of the faculty and staff," Dia said. "Being a working mother and a full-time student can be hectic at times, but WGU makes it much easier because I am able to get all of questions answered seven days a week."

Dia started her first term at WGU in February 2011. From the time she began researching online schools, Dia was looking to continuing her education for the good of her 3-year-old son’s future, as well as for her own.

She wanted a program that would help her reach her potential and build her success as quickly, efficiently, and affordably as possible—while allowing her to still budget time for playing with her son, reading, and her guilty pleasure: reality TV.

"I am a hard-working single mother in pursuit of attaining my master’s degree in business management and strategy," Dia said. "I aspire to create a better life for my son and me. I can honestly say that WGU thus far has assisted in helping me to achieve my goal, and for that I am thankful."
