Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day!
This week, we join the rest of the country in celebrating our nation’s educators as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. Our online Teachers College produces highly qualified, outstanding educators, and we’re proud of the good WGU-trained teachers do for that most-precious resource, our children.
The competency-based degree programs we offer emphasize WGU students’ ability to prove what they know and what they are capable of doing. It’s an approach that creates graduates whose degree proves real-world competencies. This is critical for all our degree fields, but when it comes to training teachers to teach, competency really matters—wouldn’t you agree?
To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to know what you think—and to thank you for sharing your thoughts, we’ll enter you to win WGU apparel or other merchandise from the WGU online store!
To enter, simply leave a comment in the comments section at the bottom of this post, answering the question, “Why is a degree that focuses on competency important for a career in teaching?”
Winners will be selected at random on Monday, May 13, 2013. You do not have to be enrolled in or graduated from a WGU Teacher Education program to enter.
This contest has ended. Winners will be notified by email. Congratulations to all the winners!
