Last month, during National Nurses Week, we introduced you to online MSN-Leadership and Management degree student Gladys Adjei-Poku, a Ghanaian-born nursing manager at the University of Utah Hospital who helps organize a yearly humanitarian medical trip back to Ghana.
Gladys was honored by the University of Utah College of Nursing on May 8 at the Honors for Nursing celebration. Gladys’ journey to a successful nursing career is not the standard story. "Just this morning, my teenage son couldn’t decide what pair of shoes to wear. When I was 15 I didn’t even own shoes," WGU Nursing course mentor Brenda Luther recalls Gladys telling her.
