Build the foundation you need to succeed in the fast-growing information technology industry
with this challenging program. Not only will you develop the diverse, broad-based IT skills
that employers demand, you'll earn eight industry IT certificationswithout adding
classes or costs. You can accelerate the program if you already hold relevant IT certifications.
At WGU, you're not just moving toward a bachelor's degree, you’re acquiring respected
industry certifications that can quickly propel you toward greater professional development
and success.
The program provides a rigorous, broad, and credible knowledge base across several IT areas:
networks, operating systems, databases, software, security, e-commerce, and project management. It
also includes lower-division general education areas of study if those are not cleared
through prior college experience. If you haven't decided which IT field you would like to
specialize in, this program will expose you to
a variety of IT specialty areas. You may start out in this program, and then later add
an area of specialization such as Networks, Databases, Software or Security.

"Higher income…"
"WGU's program is allowing me to expand my career choices and earn a higher income in my chosen field of education. As a father of a young and growing family of three sons, these things are important and add security for my family."

"The flexibility offered…"
"Without the flexibility offered by Western Govenors University, it would not be possible for me to earn my master's degree. I work full-time and then some at a professional job, have two preschool-aged children, and manage a household."

"Fit school into my life…"
"The learning format at WGU allowed me to progress as fast or slow as needed according to my schedule. I was able to fit school into my life, instead of fitting life into school."
