| WGU Future of Nursing Scholarships |
 |
|
Western Governors University is pleased to offer the WGU Future of Nursing Scholarships.
These scholarships are designed to help working nurses attend college online to become educators, managers,
and leaders in the vital healthcare field.
Who Should Apply
- Unencumbered licensed RNs who hold at least an associate's degree or diploma in nursing.
- Individuals interested in one of the following nursing degree programs:
About the Scholarship
A WGU Future of Nursing Scholarship is valued between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on need. The $2,000 scholarship
will be credited to the recipient's account at the rate of $500 per six-month term for up to four terms. The $5,000 scholarship
will be credited to the recipient's account at the rate of $1,000 per six-month term for up to five terms.
Multiple scholarships will be awarded. This is a competitive, needs-based scholarship. Each scholarship
will be awarded based upon a candidate's academic record, readiness for online study, financial need, and current competency,
plus other considerations. Although WGU's competency-based education approach makes it possible for students to
complete the requirements of their program in less than two and a half years, the scholarship awards are based on a
reasonable experience of five six-month terms to complete a program. The actual time to completion will depend on the
incoming student's prior experience, academic background, and time commitment to study.

"Opened doors…"
"WGU has opened doors for me that I would not have been able to access without an extreme inconvenience for my family, my career, and myself."

 |
| Connie Keogh, WGU graduate |

|
"On my own time…"
"I chose WGU because of the freedom of doing the work on my own time and at my own pace. In the past, I had started master's programs twice through regular universities and found the class schedules impossible to fit into my schedule."

| Dennis Nalder, WGU graduate student |

"Speed their licensure…"
WGU Teachers College will be a boon to states seeking training for current teachers and paraprofessionals to help them meet the education requirements under the No Child Left Behind Act and speed their licensure."
