Western Governors University held its semi-annual commencement on July 17th at Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake City, Utah. WGU awarded 1,279 degrees to graduates from all 50 states, the District of Columbia and many stationed overseas on military assignment. Dr. Martha Kanter, Under Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education, delivered the commencement address. Students and graduates who were unable to attend the ceremony in person watched the ceremony via live video stream.
