Before becoming a licensed teacher, you must meet all of Colorado’s initial teacher certification requirements, including:

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree program.
• Completion of a regionally accredited teacher preparation program that is approved to lead to teacher certification in the home state of the program.
• Background clearance resulting from completion of the required background check.
• Passing the required content exams.
