Before becoming a licensed teacher in Mississippi, you must meet all of Mississippi's teacher certification requirements (for a five-year initial education license), including:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in teacher education from a state-approved or NCATE-approved program offered at a regionally/nationally accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Passing scores on all of the required Praxis II content and pedagogy exams.
