Before becoming a licensed teacher in Ohio, you must meet all of Ohio's teacher certification requirements (for those who have attended out-of-state teacher preparation programs), including:
- Graduation from a bachelor’s degree program.
- Completion of an out-of-state approved teacher education program and either a) an out-of-state teaching license from the home state of the program or b) a letter of eligibility issued by the approved program verifying the teacher candidate’s eligibility for certification in the home state of the program.
- Background clearance resulting from completion of the required background check.
- Passing scores on all of the required Praxis II content and pedagogy exams.
