WGU Earns Two Prestigious Distance Learning Awards

Online University Wins USDLA AwardsWGU students have two more reasons to be proud of being part of the WGU community. Last week, the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) recognized WGU with two awards for excellence in distance learning.

As one of our Facebook fans wrote, "This is great news. It helps to make WGU even more credible, and one of the best places to go to school."

USDLA recognized WGU as an accredited online university that does distance learning right. The university won its second 21st Century Award for Best Practices in Distance Learning, while Dr. Phillip Schmidt, Associate Provost from the WGU Teachers College, was recognized for Outstanding Leadership by an Individual in the Field of Distance Learning.

An award-winning university only achieves this kind of recognition thanks to a motivated and dedicated student body, top-notch counselors, mentors, and staff, and supportive alumni, family, friends, community members, and the countless others who make WGU great. Congratulations to you all, and special congratulations to Dr. Schmidt!
