Choose a college
February is Student Appreciation Month at WGU—a chance for us to make sure you know just how much we admire, respect, and, of course, appreciate all the hard work and sacrifice you have invested in this journey we call a college education. Happy Student Appreciation Month! YOU are the reason we do what we do.
February 7 is WGU's 28th semi-annual commencement ceremony, and although we'll be celebrating live in Orlando, Florida, you can join in wherever you are here, where streaming video will begin at 9:45 a.m. ET. Nothing will inspire you to push just a little harder than seeing all those successful grads cross the stage and hearing the stories of our graduate speakers!
Faculty members were overwhelmed by your kind messages of thanks and appreciation when we celebrated Thank Your Mentor Day as part of National Mentoring Month last month. The videos, tweets, e-cards, and other messages were moving and deeply appreciated. See what your fellow Night Owls had to say.
In December, we promised to donate $10 to the American Red Cross for every prospective new student referred to WGU by a current student or alum. And refer you did!
Just in time for Valentine's Day, Composition Course Mentor Kathleen Miller has some tips to rekindle your romance with your education.
Dale, Lissete, Bryon, and Cindy will represent the graduating Class of Winter 2015 at commencement this month. Their inspiring stories are just four of the thousands we'll be celebrating in Orlando—if only we could share every graduate's story!
WGU student Drew says: "Set fake deadlines in your mind so you get the courses done faster than normal. There's a law that states we take as long as the time we are given, so giving yourself less time equals more success and in the end makes you less stressed."
