Join WGU alumni, students, and staff from across the greater Hartford area for a festive, Friendsgiving-inspired evening all about connection, community, and giving back.
Mingle with fellow Night Owls and community members, enjoy appetizers and drinks at a favorite local venue, and get to know Feed the Need Northeast—an incredible alumni-led nonprofit working to tackle food insecurity in Connecticut.
This is a casual, drop-in event, so come whenever you can and stay as long as you'd like. Bring a guest, bring a donation, and come ready to connect!

Meet Feed the Need Northeast
This Friendsgiving, we're gathering for more than a good time.
Feed the Need Northeast is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a passion for combating the serious issue of food insecurity. Through education, engagement, and empathy, the organization creates team building and outreach opportunities designed to empower people to make a difference—one bite at a time.
The need in Connecticut is significant:
1 in 8 Connecticut residents
Nearly 500,000 people regularly experience food insecurity.
Nearly 1 in 6 Connecticut children
About 16% experience food insecurity on a regular basis.
88 million meals
That's how many meals are needed to close the gap in Connecticut alone.
Bring Something to Give
We're inviting Night Owls and their guests to help support Feed the Need Northeast by bringing a donation to the event.
Their currently needed items include:
- Peanut butter
- SunButter or other non-peanut butter
- Jelly
- Hand warmers
- Gallon-size freezer bags
- Small (8 oz.) water bottles
