COURSES
Pre-Pharmacy Courses
Program consists of approximately 26 courses (72 CUs).
At WGU, our curriculum is designed to be relevant, practical, and aligned with the knowledge needed for pharmacy school and careers in pharmacy settings.
This fully online program includes foundational science, mathematics, and professional communication courses that prepare students to apply to Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs. Some courses may be waived through transfer credit from previous college experience. The remaining courses are typically completed one at a time as you progress through your degree.
You’ll work with your Program Mentor each term to build a personalized Degree Plan and stay on track for graduation. WGU’s competency-based learning model allows you to move through courses as soon as you demonstrate mastery. Once you pass the assessment, you complete the course and move on—allowing you to finish as many courses as you can within a term at no additional cost.
The curriculum focuses on the scientific, analytical, and professional foundations needed for pharmacy education and healthcare careers.
An unofficial estimated 14 courses are fulfilled by your associate degree leaving 27 courses.
This is an unofficial estimate of your transfer credits. You may receive more or less credits depending upon the specific courses taken to complete your degree and other credits you may have.
Below are the anticipated courses that will be fulfilled based on your indication that you have earned an associate’s degree. During the enrollment process this information will be verified.
Transfer Credits
If you’ve completed college courses, earned certifications, or received a degree from another accredited college or university, you may be able to transfer those credits to WGU. In most cases, credits from accredited associate or bachelor’s degree transcripts can be applied toward your WGU degree.
WGU’s competency-based curriculum lets you apply your existing knowledge and skills to your degree program. If you’ve earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.), you may qualify for upper-division standing at WGU.
Depending on your degree program, you may qualify for additional requirement waivers. If you have completed some college coursework but have not earned a degree, WGU will conduct a transcript evaluation. Your experience may waive some of your requirements.
