Two Paths for Tuition—One Affordable Degree
$5,250 from Capital One goes toward your degree.
With the WGU partnership, Capital One employees can choose between two paths to complete their degree: flex or WGU.
With the flex model, Capital One will cover a maximum of $5,250 per calendar year for undergraduate and graduate courses. Depending on the field of study (as course costs vary by program), you may be able to take—at no cost to you—up to 16 credits per calendar year for a bachelor’s program and up to 9 credits per calendar year for a master’s program.
As an eligible employee who enrolls in the flex model, you will have access to:
- Over 25 bachelor’s and master’s degrees as listed below
- Up to 16 credits per calendar year for a bachelor's degree, up to 9 credits per calendar year for a master's degree
- The same award-winning student experience, support, and resources found in WGU’s traditional programs
With the WGU model, Capital One will cover the first $5,250 of your courses per calendar year—any additional courses you take you will pay for out-of-pocket.
As an eligible employee who enrolls in WGU you will have access to:
- Over 25 bachelor’s and master’s degrees as listed below
- No set pace for the number of courses you need to take

Which Tuition Path is Right for Me?
For degree-seeking individuals who need extra time to complete their program, the Flex model is probably the right choice. This is a good option if:
You do not want to pay anything out of pocket for your courses and only want to use your calendar-year team member tuition benefit.
You want to take 16 or less credits per year in an undergraduate program, or 9 or less credits in a graduate program.
You want more flexibility in balancing school with other responsibilities.
You have considerable prior college experience and will transfer several courses to your program.
For degree-seeking individuals who want to move as quickly as possible for their degree program, and do not mind additional out-of-pocket costs, the WGU model probably best. This is a good option if:
You do not mind paying out-of-pocket for courses after using your employee tuition benefit.
You want to take 24 or more credits per year in an undergraduate program, or 16 or more credits in a graduate program.
You want to enjoy flexibility of when you take your courses and add more to accelerate through your program.
