ReNEW: A More Affordable Path to a Nursing Career
A zero-interest loan for qualified students that helps cover tuition, travel, and other expenses during the last two years of WGU's Prelicensure BSN program.
Support for the Final Two Years of Nursing School
The final two years of your Prelicensure BSN program come with some additional expenses—like travel to learning labs and clinicals—that can be a financial challenge. That’s where the ReNEW program comes in. This fund is a partnership among WGU, Social Finance, private donors, and healthcare employers that offers zero-interest loans to help cover the last two years of WGU's Prelicensure BSN program. You may pay off a ReNEW loan yourself after graduating or work for an employer partner who may make payments that may reduce your loan obligations—or even fully cover those obligations—if you remain employed for the required time period.
Why Choose ReNEW?
- A zero-interest loan that has no origination fees.
- No payments required when individual income is below $60,000 (with deferment request in accordance with the terms of the program).
- Borrow up to $20,000 per year to help cover your program costs.
- Receive loan repayment support if you work for a participating employer partner.
- Repayment term options of 5, 7, or 10 years.
- Find employment more quickly with recruiters from employer partners who will meet you while you’re still a student.
Official terms and conditions can be found in the student terms sheet. Financial Aid Counselors will review these terms with each student interested in the ReNEW Fund.
