As a Course Mentor in Composition, I often work with students who are over their first "flush" of romance with their return to higher education. While they dimly remember the heady first moments of passionate academic intensity—"I love WGU!" or "I am going to crush this first task!"—the sometimes hum-drum routines of researching, writing, and revising have dampened their initial ardor.
