YOUR WGU ALUMNI CHECKLIST

Your first steps after graduation start here.

1. Update Your Alumni Profile

Make sure your contact information is current so you don’t miss alumni news, regional event invitations, resource updates, or opportunities. Keeping your profile up to date helps us connect you with the resources and experiences most relevant to you.

2. Plan Your Commencement Moment

You worked hard to earn your degree—now it’s time to celebrate. WGU hosts commencement celebrations in cities across the country each year, and graduates can choose the location and date that work best for them and their families. There’s no deadline to participate, so whenever you’re ready, we’re ready to celebrate you.

3. Make Your Next Career Move

Whether you’re job searching, updating your résumé, preparing for interviews, or planning your next move, WGU’s Career & Professional Development team is here to help.

4. Keep Learning and Growing

Education is lifelong. Explore post-graduation learning resources to keep building your skills, stay competitive, and continue growing in your field.

5. Share Your Story

Your journey can inspire future Night Owls. Share your experience through a guided interview and tell us how WGU helped shape your educational and professional path.

6. Refer a Friend to WGU

You know the impact a WGU education can make—now help someone else take the next step. Refer a friend through the Owl’s Nest, and you can earn points to redeem for WGU swag, rewards, or store credit.

7. Ask Questions. Share Advice.

Ask questions, get advice from fellow alumni, or respond when a student or graduate reaches out. Your professional and personal experience may be exactly what another Night Owl needs—thank you for sharing it.

8. Attend Alumni Events

WGU hosts alumni events year-round, with opportunities to connect locally, regionally, nationally, and virtually. From networking mixers and career events to community service opportunities and special celebrations, there’s always a way to meet fellow Night Owls and stay involved.

9. Connect with the Night Owl Community

Stay connected with fellow graduates by joining an alumni community, chapter, honor society, or online network. Share experiences, build relationships, and keep the Night Owl conversation going.
