WGU Cybersecurity Series NYC

Explore the World of Cyber Sleuths

Join WGU and Cyber.org for a no-cost, in-person Cybersecurity Camp Series and explore careers in cybersecurity. By connecting our cybersecurity experts across the US to classrooms in NYC, WGU will host four hybrid workshop sessions designed for high school students across NYC with no prior knowledge of cybersecurity.

The goal for WGU Cybersecurity Series NYC is to introduce cybersecurity concepts and technical elements while growing the number of people from underrepresented communities in the science/IT industries.

What Do Participating Students Learn?

Students will roleplay as Department of Homeland Security agents and solve challenging puzzles inspired by real-world events such as identifying “fake news,” understanding artificial intelligence, contemplating ethical hacking, and more!

  • Learn tips of the trade from cybersecurity experts
  • Receive training and activity facilitation from a former FBI cybersecurity expert and WGU School of Technology faculty
  • Access to free STEM resources, events, and initiatives

All participating afterschool programs must be based in a New York City high school.
