Andrews will focus his address on healthcare in an effort to reignite the passion in providers to connect with patients on a human, heartfelt level. The lecture will be recorded live in front of a limited studio audience in Salt Lake City and will be streamed live online to viewers across the nation. A week in Andrews’ life could find him keynoting at a leadership conference, helping a global brand with messaging, or performing for President Obama in Oprah Winfrey’s back yard. This schoolteacher-turned-national poetry slam champion has become the world’s leading “poetic voice”a new type of speaker and artist who blends inspirational speaking with spoken-word poetry to electrify the messages of global organizations, including Google, Toyota, Nike, and PayPal. Andrews will present one of his catalogue pieces, titled “Love Affair with Healthcare.” While his diverse presentation topics range from cloud computing to innovation to helping leaders become public speakers, Andrews has also emerged as a powerful voice for healthcare, frequently presenting for such clients as Mayo Clinic, Johnson & Johnson, Genentech and The American Nurses Association. This speech will kick-off WGU’s celebration of National Nurses Week and the annual WGU Loves Nurses campaign, scheduled for the beginning of May.
