WGU and CWD Partner to Expand California’s Credentialed Teacher Pipelines
The California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) is partnering with WGU to provide a "tuition-free pathway" for paraprofessionals or public school staff with at least 45 transferrable college credit hours to obtain their teaching degree via the California High Road Training Partnership (CA HRTP). Students approved for this opportunity will have their tuition and fees covered and will receive a $9,300 stipend at the start of student teaching.
The goal of this program is to address the statewide teacher shortage by increasing the number of qualified, credentialed teachers in the state of California. WGU is proud to serve these student candidates and act as a means for them to fulfill their educational dreams in this partnership.
*Applicants may transfer credit up to and not exceeding fifty-three (53) percent of their program. WGU determines the maximum amount of credit an applicant may be able to transfer on a programmatic basis.
