Lead Communications Representative

Jennifer Rose joined Western Governors University in 2021 and currently is lead communications representative for the School of Business where she develops and implements external communication strategy the School of Business and its executive leaders through media relations, media interviews and press mentions, press releases, social media content, thought leadership articles, conference support, script writing, webinars, fact sheets, talking points, WGU blog and newsletter content and more, which are all in alignment with the mission of WGU and the strategic goals of the School of Business. Previously, Rose served the Office of the Provost and Academic Organization.

Before joining WGU, Rose worked in communications at Penn State for seven years, where she supported the College of Health and Human Development and University Police and Public Safety. Rose also worked as a news reporter for 10 years, during which time she earned award at the local, state and national level, before transitioning to higher ed communications and public relations. Additionally, Rose served as an adjunct communications and journalism professor at Penn State, Widener University and Delaware County Community College. 

Rose has a master’s degree in public affairs reporting from the University of Illinois – Springfield and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
