WESTERN GOVERNORS UNIVERSITY Emergency student aid.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the world around us in countless ways. Millions of Americans have filed for unemployment, are sheltering-in-place, and may be facing great health or financial struggles. The safety, health, and well-being of our students and their families are the top priority at WGU, and we want to support you in every way we can as you face the widespread impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. That's why we have created several financial resources for our students during this time.
Financial aid revision.
If you haven’t already, please email our specialized Financial Aid team at firstname.lastname@example.org and provide a brief summary of how your financial situation has changed since you completed your 19/20 FAFSA or since the 2017 tax year.
The Financial Aid counseling team will then determine if a Professional Judgement may improve your eligibility parameters for need-based federal financial aid and will provide instructions and documentation requirements for a Professional Judgement if you may be eligible for one. More grant aid may be available to you if your financial circumstances have changed.
If you currently have a balance on your WGU account that you are unable to pay at this time, we ask that you please fill out a scholarship application for the Financial Support Fund which will be reviewed by the scholarship committee. You will need to complete the General Application and the supplemental Financial Support Fund application. Once completed, the Scholarships team will contact you within 1–2 business days to complete the next steps.
To be eligible for this funding, active students must be utilizing all available resources to pay tuition, including federal and state grants, student loans, and employer-sponsored tuition reimbursement.
If you have financial needs you are concerned about outside of tuition on your WGU account, please email WGU at email@example.com.
