Highly recommend for busy people.
I am in the middle of my 3rd semester and I recommend WGU to anyone who will listen. It is super affordable and flexible for those that think they don’t have time to finish school. I work full time and am a full time mom and have been able to finish an average of 6 classes a semester. The best part, they don’t charge you extra for more classes. You pay per term!
Glad I went back
Glad I went back. I went to WGU for my Bachelors degree in the early 2000s. I liked it. I enjoyed it. Then the last bit I hit some big snags. It left a bitter taste in my mouth. But after a few years (okay, almost 10), I went back for my Masters degree. I'm very glad I did. All of the issues I had the first time around were changes for the better. Great experience, great education, and a great value.
Love the competency based curriculum
Love the competency based curriculum. I can move at the pace that works for me, and I’m not expected to carry the load of fellow students to complete ‘team’ projects, like I’ve had to do at the other private online university. My professional experience pays big dividends, as I can complete assignments and assessments without the burden of lectures or other unnecessary learning rituals. The one criticism is the requirement to complete Algebra in a degree program where it is not used. It is an inefficient use of time, and a useless frustration. I can understand requiring it for engineering, science or finance majors. But not for every degree program.
Loved my experience with WGU…
Loved my experience with WGU for both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. For me, the key was accountability to my dedicated student mentor. They always had encouraging words to say and reminded me of why I went back to school. Price was very reasonable compared to other schools, and had very few challenges with Student Services (of which has always previously been a struggle). Great school, learned a TON and hope they have a doctorate program I'd be interested in soon!
An empowering experience
I love everything about my experience so far. The mentors are helpful, and the student groups are equally encouraging. I have been a student for about 3 months so far. I feel so much more empowered over my education because I'm in the driver's seat when it comes to navigating school. I can accelerate and accommodate depending on my schedule and how much I already know. And, I am saving money in the process! I encourage everyone to enroll and give WGU a try.
Love WGU. I was 40 years old with a 2 year old child. I couldn't have gotten my degree with any other college structure. WGU challenged me while my mentor and instructors supported me. Best thing I ever did for myself.

This was the best college experience of my life. The curriculum was challenging but very accessible. Best decision I every made was going to WGU
Earned a Bachelor's in 19 months
WGU allowed me to graduated with a B.S. in Accounting in 19 months for a little over $9,000. My professors and student mentor cared as much about my success as I did. In my opinion, no other college is even worth considering attending besides WGU. I am so thankful for all the opportunities this school has given me. Y'all are the best! :)
I had a fabulous experience
I had a fabulous experience while I earned my Masters degree. The student mentors and course mentors were very helpful.

Excellent Self-Paced Learning
WGU was an excellent experience for me in both the undergrad and graduate programs. It provided the total freedom and self-pacing I required to complete my degrees as quickly as I could learn while dialing back the intensity if needed to balance children and a full-time career. I highly recommend WGU to any working professional looking to return to school on their terms.

I have 3 degrees from WGU and have excelled in my teaching career because of them!
Jason didn't think he needed a degree—until he found his career had gone as far as it would without one. He earned his bachelor's degree from WGU and found such immediate success, he enrolled in his master's program—less than 2 months later.
At WGU, we pride ourselves on putting the student first in everything we do, from enrollment to graduation. Student success is our main driver, and the stories our students and alumni share with us inspire us.
“WGU prepared me to enter the field of teaching. I was very successful and became a principal four years later. Thank you, WGU!”—Nancy Walker, B.A. Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education)
"It's never too late to learn and grow. I am so glad that I made the decision, even at the age of 44, to get my master's degree—because it's already paying off in my career and will continue to do so for years and years to come."—Victor Perez, MBA
