Dr. David Bell joined Western Governors University’s Teachers College in 2021 as Director of Academic Programs and Associate Dean for Advanced Programs. Prior to joining WGU, he held leadership and teaching positions in academia, including Dean of St. John’s University’s School of Education; Associate Dean of Curriculum and Accreditation at West Chester University’s College of Education and Social Work; and Associate Dean of Curriculum and Assessment at Saint Xavier University. Prior to working in higher education, David left a successful career in finance to have the social impact he needed, serving as a classroom teacher in Chicago Public Schools, Science and Math Department Chair for the district, and Area-Wide Instructional Leader for the Illinois State Board of Education. His scholarly work in school district strategies, K-12 learning, professional development, and instructional coaching has been published in numerous journals, including Journal of Research in Innovative Teaching, Journal of Adult Education, and Academic Leadership Online Journal.
