AUSTIN – WGU Texas and Distance Learning Systems (DLSI) announced an agreement to support students seeking bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The agreement creates pathways for the DLSI graduates and employees to work toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree and further their education at WGU Texas.
“We are excited that WGU Texas is interested in continuing our students’ success,” said David K. Christy, COO, Distance Learning Systems. “This agreement creates a streamlined approach for DLSI graduates and employees to advance their personal and education goals.”
Founded in 1999, DLSI offers a high quality, low-cost path to college credit in a flexible online learning environment with live interactive and recorded classes, providing customized education solutions that are an alternative to the rising cost and debt of education. Since 1999, over 20,000 individuals nationwide have enrolled in DLSI programs in pursuit of an accelerated path to earning a degree.
This is the first agreement between DLSI and WGU Texas and streamlines the process for DLS graduates and employees pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at WGU Texas. Through the agreement, DLSI graduates and employees are also eligible for
- WGU Community College Partner Scholarship, valued at $2,500,
- Exclusive partner scholarships, valued at up to $2,500,
- Comprehensive and seamless transfer policy.
“This collaboration creates an opportunity for students to earn accredited, degree programs online that will prepare them to enter some of the state’s most in-demand careers,” said Linda Battles, Regional Vice President and WGU Texas Chancellor. “We’re also excited to collaborate with DLSI in support of their workforce and employee development goals.”
WGU Texas’ current enrollment is more than 13,700 students. Since its launch in 2011, more than 20,000 graduates have earned their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in teaching, business, IT, and healthcare, including nursing. DLSI graduates may learn more about transfer pathways on the DLSI Transfer Pathways site or texas.wgu.edu/dlsii. For more information about WGU Texas, visit texas.wgu.edu.
