Western Governors School of Business is Reimagining Higher Education in Today’s Business World

WGU School of Business offers agile, affordable programs designed to empower students to learn at the speed of business

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, FEBRUARY 27, 2024 — Western Governors University (WGU) today unveiled its School of Business brand, which represents how students and graduates are equipped with the future-ready skills needed to make an immediate impact in the evolving workplace and business landscape.

The WGU School of Business collaborates across the corporate landscape to build industry-aligned programs and products in partnership with leaders like Google, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the American Marketing Assocation (AMA). The School of Business is continuously launching new and expanded offerings to meet employer demands.

“From career placement and advancement opportunities to access to community and employer networks, our graduates leave the WGU School of Business prepared to make an immediate impact,” said Mitsu Frazier, senior vice president and executive dean for the WGU School of Business. “Our industry-aligned curriculum, programs and additional opportunities like project-based internships and industry-affiliated student organizations are designed to help our students learn at the speed of business.”

The WGU School of Business is committed to working with industry leaders as efforts are continuously made to adapt and develop curriculum that aligns with current workforce needs. This includes unique educational pathways designed to develop and nurture the specific skills that today’s businesses are seeking.

“We are proud to team up with Western Governors University to help break down barriers to access higher education,” said Mike Katz, president of Marketing, Strategy and Products at T-Mobile for Business. “T-Mobile’s network – America’s largest 5G – and incredible team dedicated to helping higher education institutions is why we can support schools like WGU, so they can do what they do best – teach the workforce of tomorrow.”

In the upcoming months, the WGU School of Business will visit key cities across the country as part of its commitment to aligning its programs with the industry and educational needs of local communities. School leaders will travel to Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, and New York to introduce the School of Business brand and collaborate with current partners, business leaders and influencers.

“Our goal is to gain further industry input to help shape future programs and curriculum within the WGU School of Business, which will eventually contribute to local workforces and the economy,” Frazier said.

In celebration of the brand launch, Western Governors University is pleased to announce the Speed of Business Scholarship which is open to all School of Business applicants and can be applied to any WGU School of Business degree program (worth up to $3,000).
